    • james developed Parkinson's Disease and could no longer dray, so gave up his job in Clydebank and he moved back to Bathgate. For a time he was the Clerk of Works at the new Glenmavis scheme. During WWII he served with the Observer Corp at a post near his home in Bathgate.
