Notes |
- Winifred was a keen golfer and tennis player when she met Cecil Going.
She also was a good athlete, competing in athletics, hockey, rugby, tennis and bowls. Also played rugby for the first North Shore rugby team, where she represented North Auckland in 1922.
She first met Cecil when he was at Auckland training college, training to be a Teacher.
After they married they moved to Kohukohu, Mauni, and Toka Toka, before finally going to North Shore, Auckland, in 1954. Here Cecil was Headmaster at Glenfield Primary School.
Cecil was always a bit of a do-it-your-selfer. Even building his own home in Glenfield.
After his retirement he became a Justice of the Peace.
Winifred was a member of the Country Womens Institute since 1930.
