Notes |
- Phea as she was known remained at home to help her father with the work of the nursery. She did the bookwork and helped on the stands at shows where he exhibited his plants. Her father was engaged to turf the bowling greens for the London and Noth Eastern Railway Club in Torphichen Street, Bathgate. Tom Marshall was the President of the club and he and Peter became great friends and he met Bethia. After Tom's first wife died he and Bethia were married and he moved to Ballencrief. By then Bethia was 50 years old and so never had any children
