• Notes

  During WWI he served with the British Army in France. He was hit by a large lump of shrapnel in his left shoulder, from that day onward he could never move his arm above chest height. Could not drive a car because of his restricted movement. His occupation was Coal Miner and he was working in the Redding Pit during the 1923 pit disaster. Luckily he was not on that shift when the pit flooded. Informant on the death of Richard Thomson was his son in law, A C Allen
