Whilst they were living at the bottom of Restalrig Road, Leith, Sarah had a shop where she sold home made cakes, sweeties and potted heid (potted head). After moving from there they lived behind a shop Sarah had at 3 Middlefield, Pilrig, Edinburgh. Helen Sutherland Aitken, loved visiting her granny Sarah. Her grandad John Aitken loved mince and tatties and so whenever aunt Nelly visited she was always sure of getting a plate.
