Notes |
- During WWI he was in the Mercantile Marine. He was serving as Bosun on the SS Brantingham. After his ship left Archangel she was never seen again. It was later admitted by the German Navy that the Brantingham had been sunk by a U-Boat on 4 Oct 1916. All 24 crewmen were lost at sea in the Arctic Ocean. Andrew's death is commemorated on the tower Hill Memorial, London..
