- George sailed to Australia, as ship's Bosun, on the maiden voyage of the "Koopa" which then spent its time cruising from Brisbane to Moreton Bay as a ferry and day tripper. (Taken over during the war as a Fairmile tender.) Whether he brought his family out on the Koopa is unknown, but sometime between 1914 and 1915 the family came to Australia.
