Notes |
- Ann went to Maple, Canada, to look after her Church of Scotland Minister brother, William. Whilst there she met and married Arthur Noble.
Arthur was a rogue with a taste for gambling, horses and women, who transmitted to Ann the venereal disease from which he himself died a few years afterwards.
When Archie Macquarrie, the executor of Joseph Noble's estate, told Arthur's mother that her son was robbing the estate she refused to believe him as his mother doted on him.
Archie died on 13 Mar 1879, and was buried at Woodland Cemetery, East Flamborough. ONT. Canada.
Ann probably remarried as a letter written by Ann's brother Rev. William Aitken, refers to her as Mrs Watson.
I know nothing of this second marriage.
