  David was born about 1843 in Linlithgow, as per the Beaverbrook tree and the 1841 Census. However his Marriage Certificate gives him born in 1844 Robert and his brother, David, married two Dawson sisters, Elizabeth and Grace The informant of the death of David Aitken was his brother-in-law William Dawson The burial records for West Lothian cemeteries show the various items that go to make up the burial cost.
