Notes |
- His grand - daughter, Joan Balson nee Robertson, wrote to her son Dermot Balson, "He (Henry McCann) was a good - looking young man, who played cricket and enjoyed good company. He was allowed one night a year by my grandmother - New Year's Eve, when even she relaxed the rules. As far as I could gather he used to come home extremely late - or rather, early - very much the worse for wear. Being tall and dark he like my father, was much in demand for 'first - footing'."
